Rodel Hernandez

Rodel finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at San Beda College in 2004 and Bachelor of Law at Arellano University School of Law with distinction in 2005.

Admitted to the Philippe Bar in 2005 Rodel worked in a private law firm, practicing mainly in the areas of criminal law and commercial law for 3 years before joining the Supreme Court of the Philippines in 2008 as a Court Attorney to Associate Justice Justo P Torres Jr.

Rodel’s work in the Philippines for the Philippine Judicial Academy and his and extensive work as a Researcher for the Bench book for Trial Court Judges stands him in good stead to join our criminal legal team.

He worked as the Mediation Supervisor and Resource Person for the Philippine Mediation Centre involved in drafting the Rules and Regulations in the implementation of Court-Annexed Mediation in the Philippines.

He spearheaded the program on Judicial Dispute Resolution (JDR) where magistrates act as mediators and arbitrators involving disputes elevated from the lower trial courts. He administered the Mobile Court-Annexed Mediation as part of the Enhanced Justice on Wheels program travelling all over the country to provide legal services in remote areas. He likewise supervised approximately 500 mediators and staff within 60 mediation units across the country.

In 2019, he obtained his Australian law qualification with the Legal Extension Committee of the University of Sydney receiving distinction and merits in the subject areas of Real Property, Administrative law, Criminal law, Torts and Practice and Procedure.

In November 2019, he joined Campbell and Co. Lawyers and this year he took over the Conveyancing practice as his predecessor is on maternity leave (who just happens to refer to conveyancing as the ‘happy area of law’).

Rodel is competent in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victorian property purchases and sales. His work within PEXA, the online conveyancing system, has prepared him well for its recent introduction in the ACT.

Buying and selling property can be daunting, but Rodel take the stress out of the process for his clients. He is meticulous in ensuring that exchange and settlement dates are met and has developed important relationships with key stakeholders, including with InfoTrack, Land Titles and banks.

When not working and giving his all to the firm along with sharing his artistic talents; Rodel plays the piano, bass guitar and paints.  The perfect gentleman and family man, you would never guess Rodel was a Rock Band Star!
